Welcome to the 59 th Annual Henderson County Livestock Show. We are dedicated to having another record year just as we did at the 58 th HCLS. This can only be done with the hard work and commitment of our exhibitors, parents, FFA advisors, 4-H leaders, volunteers and buyers. These groups come together to make the Henderson County Livestock Show a premier event in East Texas.

Colin Powell once said, “There are no secrets to success; it is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.” This is a great starting point for this message. During the show you will see great success; it is the cumulative effort of the exhibitors, parents, leaders, volunteers and buyers that make this show successful. Exhibitors have poured their heart, soul, and sweat into their projects to try and have a champion, a class winner or just make the sale. Parents and leaders have tried to guide these young agriculturalists
toward the right path. Volunteers have given their time and experience to get prepared, and buyers have invested in the youth of today and leaders of tomorrow. All of this summed up becomes the Henderson County Livestock Show.

The 58 th Annual Show experienced a record sale, with close to $600,000 in sales from the premium auction, commercial heifer sale, and project show. There was approximately $55,000 in scholarships awarded to deserving Henderson County students involved in agriculture. We said good luck and farewell to our 73 graduating seniors at the 4 th annual senior reception with a fine meal served up by Jeff Cade and Bar C Enterprise. We want to wish these students good luck in their future plans. We also want them to remember that the hard work and dedication they displayed during their show careers will serve them well in the future. I am honored to serve as the president for the 2018-2019 Henderson County Livestock show. I would like to invite everyone to come by and witness the successes of our Henderson County youth. If you get the opportunity, please visit the Henderson County Livestock Show website at hclsathens.com. Also, go by and thank our gate sponsors: Boot Barn, Aqua Texas, Benson’s Eats and Treats and Henderson County Title. If you are interested in joining the livestock show association, we meet on the second Monday of every odd month at 7pm in the TVCC Agriculture building.

Once again, thank you to all the volunteers and the generous buyers. I hope everyone has a great show and finds success at the 59 Annual Henderson County Livestock Show.
